WHY GO: It’s our one year anniversary at Brooklyn Tap House and the New Year celebration continues with our “Brooklyn Appreciation” party. This Saturday, all Brooklyn residents will get 10% off of their Brooklyn Tap House bill when they present their ID with a Brooklyn
address. Come on out, and enjoy the “No Crap On Tap” experience!

WHAT: Target First Saturdays at the Brooklyn Museum: “Outside the Frame”

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, January 5, 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Bklyn

WHY GO: At the Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment each month. All evening long, the Museum Café serves a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and beverages, and a cash bar offers wine and beer. Enjoy highlights, such as Ljova and the Kontraband who fuse Eastern European and Roma melodies with Latin rhythms-- Part of Carnegie Hall's Neighborhood Concert Series. Also, Taraka and Nimai Larson, the sisters behind the Brooklyn-based psychedelic rock band Prince Rama, give a performance presentation of their project The Now Age.

HOW MUCH: Free. Parking is a flat rate of $5 starting at 5 p.m

 

WHAT: Reggae Retro Dance Party—The Official First Saturdays Dance Party

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, January 5, 10:30 p.m. – 4:00 a.m., Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street b/w 3rd/4th Avenue, Bklyn

WHY GO: This once a month event has become a staple on the NYC reggae scene.  Since it's early roots at the dawn of the new millennium, Reggae Retro has become the most anticipated underground reggae event each month. In fact, many are calling Reggae Retro "the dance party that is in the forefront of the latest trend towards roots & culture music in the dancehalls." This week featuring Point Blank Sound and Hypeman Guidance.
