Friday September 2, DJ Spenser will be mixing all your hip hop and house favorites. We will also be running a HEINEKEN 2 for 1 Special from 6pm - 7pm and ½ off on ALL BACARDI base drinks from 7pm - 8pm - yes, it's a party!

WHY GO: In partnership with the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation and the Brooklyn Historical Society, Urban Oyster leads a bus tour replete with fascinating stories of the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s past, present, and future. During this overview tour, we stop to get a closer look at the Yard’s most intriguing sites, including a dry dock that’s been used since before the Civil War, the 20-acre former Navy hospital campus that is virtually frozen in time, and the nation’s first multi-story LEED-certified industrial building.

WHEN/WHERE: Labor Day, Monday, September 5, starting at 11:30am, Utica Avenue to Grand Army Plaza along Eastern Pkwy
WHY GO: Catch all the color and excitement as millions of Brooklynites & New Yorkers line up along Eastern Parkway for the Brooklyn Labor Day parade on Monday, September 5, 2011. This year, the West Indian American Day Parade & Carnival celebrates its 44th anniversary as it continues to enjoy the distinction of being New York City’s biggest cultural festivals by far. As in the past, count on crowds to be waving flags from Trinidad, Barbados, Grenada and other Caribbean nations in a joyful expression of ethnic heritage & cultural pride. You don’t have to be from the West Indies
Everyone’s invited to take part in the spectacle of thousands of marchers in colorful costumes ‘jumpin’ down the parade route to the sounds of reggae and calypso.
