Lewis Gallery Says, "Goodbye"
After 21 years, the beloved art gallery and frame store prepares to close its doors

After 21 years in business, Lewis Gallery, the art and framing store at 411 Lewis Avenue, will close its doors on March 31, 2011.
The gallery's owner, Gwendolyn Lewis, made the announcement yesterday.
"With much consideration, we have decided to explore new options for Lewis Gallery and will officially close our doors," said Lewis. "I will be in touch with you soon to update you on our transition. I cannot express how grateful I am for your patronage over the past 21 years."
The store will hold a Customer Appreciation Week, beginning this Wednesday, March 2, through Sunday March 6. All art and merchandise will be drastically reduced.
Lewis asks that if you have artwork in the gallery that you have not picked up, to please do so no later than Friday, March 18. Also, please be sure the gallery has your preferred contact information (e-mail, address and telephone number), she said.

Bed-Stuy Patch will follow up with Ms. Lewis about what led to her decision to close, as well as provide an overview of some of the store's specials throughout Customer Appreciation Week.
