Locals Mourn 16-Year-Old Fatally Shot In Bed-Stuy: Report
Brooklyn locals on Tuesday mourned teenager Amiere Hayes, a day after the teenager was fatally shot near his Bed-Stuy home.

BED-STUY, NY — Loved ones honored Amiere Hayes with a candlelight vigil just one day after the 16-year-old was fatally shot in Bed-Stuy, according to police and reports.
"His death truly hurt our community," family friend Zakiya Blasian told News 12.
Hayes was fatally shot in the head Monday about 5:50 p.m. on Marcus Garvey Boulevard near Willoughby Avenue — not far from his home, according to the NYPD.

Loved ones on Tuesday remembered Hayes as a straight A student and an aspiring basketball player, according to News 12.
"He taught me a lot of things — how to love unconditionally," his sister, Amari Pipkin, told reporters at the memorial.

"We love you Amiere, we will always love you, always and forever," Blasian said.
Police said on Tuesday Hayes' shooters remained at large as they continued their search for two teenagers between 16 to 18 years old.
