Subway Smokers With Box Cutter Attack Straphanger In Bed Stuy: NYPD

A man was hit on the back of the head by two women he asked to stop smoking on an A train in Bed Stuy, according to police.

BED STUY, NY — Two smoking straphangers waved a box cutter and attacked a fellow rider in a train under Bed-Stuy Tuesday night, after he asked them to stop, according to police.

The 45-year-old rider spotted at least two women lighting up on an A train nearing Nostrand Avenue in Bed-Stuy about 9:50 p.m., police said Wednesday night.

When he told them to stop, the pair whipped out the box cutter and hit him on the back of the head with some object, according to police.

Police shared images the following day of the two young women posing for someone filming them on the train.

The man suffered a bloody wound on the back of the head but refused medical attention, police said. There were no arrests Thursday morning.
