BROOKLYN, NY — A pedestrian died after a hit-and-run driver struck him along a Brooklyn road, police said.

The as-yet-unidentified man was found early Saturday morning near Broadway and Suydam St., on the Bedford-Stuyvesant-Bushwick border, suffering severe body trauma, authorities said.

Police believe the 47-year-old man was walking when he was struck by a driver traveling northbound on Broadway, according to NYPD officials.

The driver did not remain at the scene, police added.

Officers responded to a 911 call and found the man at the crash site, where medics pronounced him dead, according to officials.

The hit-and-run is under investigation and police have not released the victim’s name, pending notification of his family.
