Man Killed on Motorcycle at Intersection of Garvey Blvd. and Park Ave.

The biker collided with a Chevy Impala; no criminality is suspected.

A man driving a motorcycle Eastbound on Park Avenue was killed on Friday, May 11 when he collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Garvey Boulevard, police reported.

At approximately 7:49 p.m., the 79 Precinct received a call that there had been an accident. Upon arriving at the intersection of Garvey Boulevard and Park Avenue, the responding officers discovered a 47-year-old black male laying on the ground experiencing severe head trauma, according to police sources.

An EMS team also responded to the scene and transported the individual to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Further investigation by the 79 Precinct revealed that Barron Sanders had been traveling eastbound on Park Avenue, on a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle, when he struck a black 2007 Chevy Impala sedan, traveling westbound on Park Avenue at the intersection of Garvey Boulevard.

The 67-year-old driver of the sedan remained at the scene. Police do not suspect any criminality at this time, though the investigation is still ongoing.
