Meet Your East Bed-Stuy Community Cops on Aug. 27

The NYPD is hosting a community get-together with East Bed-Stuy's community cops on Aug. 27.

EAST BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — The NYPD is hosting a community event on Aug. 27 to introduce locals to the new Neighborhood Coordination Officers (or NCOs) assigned to their streets.

The gathering is being put on by the NYPD's 81st Precinct, which patrols the eastern half of Bed-Stuy, and the Clergy Council Board. Here are the details:

Free food and family activities, such as face painting and a puppet show, are also planned. The 81st Precinct Clergy Council Board members in attendance will be pastors Taylor and Osbourne, Bishop Claudio and Reverend Luperena.

Under the NYPD's NCO program, police precincts are divided up into four quadrants. Here's the quadrant map for the 81st Precinct (you can click the image to enlarge it):

Two NCOs are assigned to each quadrant, and serve as a point of contact for local residents.
