Notorious BIG Gets His Own Budweiser Can, Prospect Park Concert
Get ready for a concert in Prospect Park honoring the life of the Brooklyn rapper in August by grabbing this Biggie Smalls-themed beer can.

BROOKLYN, NY — A concert in Prospect Park this summer will pay homage to Brooklyn's own Biggie Smalls — but New Yorkers don't have to wait until the concert date to toast the iconic rapper.
Budweiser has released a new limited-edition beer can celebrating the Notorious B.I.G. in anticipation of its Aug. 19 concert at the Prospect Park Bandshell, which will feature Biggie's collaborators and newer artists influenced by his music, they announced.
The Notorious B.I.G. Tall Boy Budweiser — complete with a hand drawn sketch of Christopher Wallace and a selection of his lyrics — will be sold only in New York City and kicked off last week. It was launched in partnership with the Christopher Wallace Estate.

“I am honored to know that a brand such as Budweiser wanted to celebrate my son in this way,” Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace said in a release. “Christopher’s legacy and brand value is extremely important to myself and the family and memorializing him on the can of an iconic beer brand as 'Budweiser' is something I believe he would be happy with.”
The can launched on July 14 along with limited-edition merchandise that can be found online. It can be found wherever Budweiser is sold, according to the beer company.

The concert will be held on Aug. 19 at the bandshell, which was recently renamed for another Brooklyn trailblazer, Lena Horne.
The free show will feature performances by Busta Rhymes, Lil Kim, The Lox, DJ Steph Cakes and more, according to Budweiser. Tickets, which include one of the Tall Boy cans with entry, can be found online.
“The Notorious B.I.G. Budweiser Tall Boy can is the most iconic can collaboration we’ve done to date,” Budweiser marketing executive Daniel Blake said. “We’re grateful for the collaboration with the Christopher Wallace Estate and Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace to bring this special can to life so that we can celebrate the legacy of the greatest rapper of all time.”
