Pedestrian Victim ID'ed In Bed-Stuy Hit-And-Run

The incident happened at the intersection of Bedford Avenue and Lafayette Avenue.

BROOKLYN, NY— A driver hit and killed a pedestrian and then sped off early Thursday morning in Bed-Stuy, New York Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the victim, now identified as Felix Mendez, 49, was crossing the street on Bedford Avenue at the Lafayette Avenue intersection around 3 a.m., when an unknown car hit him and kept driving.

Mendez, a Bed-Stuy local, was rushed to NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

As of Monday morning, no arrests have been made yet, and the incident is under investigation by the NYPD.
