Police Blotter: Four Men Arrested For Prostituting a Minor
A weekly roundup of crime activity in the 81st Precinct

Crime numbers were unchanged this week in the 81st Precinct (30 incidents versus 30 incidents), compared to this same week in 2010. For the month, crime is up 8 percent (125 incidents versus 116), compared to this same 28-day period last year. And year to date, crime is up 2 percent (1,171 incidents versus 1, 145), compared to this same time last year.
Prostitution Arrest
Police made an arrest of four men on Monday, at approximately 4:00pm, surrounding a forced prostitution ring they were running with an underage Bed-Stuy girl police describe as “known to the precinct.” The woman was being prostituted in the 77th Precinct.

Four Shootings
On Thursday, November 3, at approximately 1:00pm, several shots were fired from a black car near the corner of Ralph Avenue and Macon Street. No one was hit. However, officers saw the shooters, and began a car chase that led them into the 73rd Pct. Officers were able to catch the car and made two arrests. They are continuing an investigation into other suspects they believe are connected with the incident.

On Saturday, November 5, at approximately 2:30am, five shots were fired in front of 1849 Atlantic. Nearby police heard the shots and went to the scene where they found shell casings and noted that a bullet had penetrated the window of a first-floor apartment. The resident was sleep inside and did not hear the shooting. No one was hurt, although there was damage to the inside of the tenant's home. The shooting is still under investigation.
On Sunday, November 6, at 12:00 midnight, a 21-year-old man was shot in the back on Quincy Street, between Lewis and Stuyvesant Avenues in the Stuy Gardens Housing Projects. Police were notified of the incident by a neighbor, after the victim sought shelter in his home. Police report the victim was highly uncooperative and provided no further information about the incident. He was taken to Kings County Hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
On Monday, November 7, at approximately 10:30pm, an 18-year-old man was shot once in the back on the corner of Ralph Avenue and Fulton Street, near the train station entrance. The victim says he was walking down the street when he was approached by five males who pulled a gun. He began to run, and they shot him in the back. The victim provided no further information on the five suspects. He was taken to Kings County Hospital. He is listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
