Police Blotter: Three Women Robbed
A weekly roundup of crime activity in the 79th Precinct

Crime is up 9 percent this week in the 79th Precinct (48 incidents, versus 44 incidents), compared to this same time last year. Crime is up 5 percent for the month (141 incidents, versus 134), compared to this same 28-day period in 2010. And crime is down 1 percent, year-to-date (1,724 incidents, versus 1,742 incidents), compared to this same time last year.
3 Robberies:
On Tuesday, December 5 at 2:30am, a woman was robbed as she was leaving the "G" train at Lafayette and Bedford. According to the victim, she was walking out of the train exit when a man described as a black male, approximately 20 years old, 6’2” and 180 pounds with short hair and wearing a black jacket grabbed the turnstile to prevent her from exiting. At that point another man (no description provided) went to the front of the turnstile and pushed her against the wall, as the other perpetrator went through her pockets and remove her cell phone.

On Sunday, December 12 at 1:30am, a woman was robbed while standing on Ellery Street and Tompkins Avenue. According to the victim, she was on Ellery Street when a man described as a black male, approximately 35 years old, 5’8” and 170 pounds, wearing a gray hat and black jeans approached her on a bicycle, jumped off of his bicycle, displayed a firearm and demanded, “Give your money, bag and phone.” The victim complied, and the perpetrator fled the scene on his bicycle, south down Tompkins Avenues.
On Monday, December 12/ at 12:00am, a woman was robbed while was entering the lobby of 5 Spencer Court. According the victim, she was walking into the lobby when a man described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, 6 feet tall, short black hair and blue jeans followed behind her in the lobby and pretended to forget his keys. The perpetrator then exited and then quickly returned and snatched the victim’s iPhone out of her hand.
