Pickpockets Steal $1K From 89-Year-Old In Bed-Stuy, Cops Say

Two men are wanted in connection with the July 20 theft of $1,000 from an elderly man, according to authorities.

BED-STUY, NY — An 89-year-old man was robbed of $1,000 moments after leaving a Chase Bank in Bed-Stuy, according to police who are seeking the suspects.

The two pickpockets snuck up behind the man on Fulton Street near Brooklyn Avenue about 1:55 p.m. on July 20, according to police.

The man had $1,000 cash in his right pocket, which he'd just withdrawn from a Chase ATM and to which the thieves helped themselves, police said.

The suspects fled on foot and the elderly man was left unharmed, authorities reported.

Police want the public’s assistance in finding the men, who were described to be approximately 30 to 40 years of age, thin build and of medium skin complexion, said the NYPD.
