Scooter Rider Killed In Bed-Stuy SUV Crash, Police Say

The rider was thrown from his scooter on the corner of Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Decatur Street about 4:30 a.m., police said.

BEDFORD STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A man on a scooter was thrown to the pavement in a Bed-Stuy smash-up that cost him his life Sunday morning, police said.

The unidentified scooter rider was hit by a 2020 Infiniti, an SUV, on the corner of Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Decatur Street about 4:30 a.m., police said.

The KSR Mito TTX scooter went careening into a parked 2014 Hyundai Sonata and the rider was thrown police said.

Medics rushed the badly wounded man to Kings County Hospital, but doctor's couldn't save his life, police said.

The uninjured Infiniti driver, 21, stayed at the scene of the crash and did not face criminal charges, according to police.
