Spike Lee Is Throwing a Michael Jackson-Themed Block Party in Bed-Stuy
No one throws a Brooklyn block party like Spike Lee.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Nearly 30 years after "Do The Right Thing," Spike Lee is still throwing the best block parties in Bed-Stuy.
If you missed the all-purple Prince birthday party he hosted last spring, the next most fabulous thing is slated for the end of August.
Lee will be hosting his sixth annual "Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson" block party on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Stuyvesant Avenue between Lexington Avenue and Quincy Street. Sway is scheduled to co-host, and DJ Spinna will be playing the MJ.

Like many of Lee's shindigs, the Aug. 27 event is free and open to the public — No RSVP necessary. Just like a Bed-Stuy block party should be.
