BROOKLYN, NY — Gunfire broke out at a Brooklyn subway station, leaving a teenage boy wounded and marking the latest episode of transit violence, police said.

Police said the shooting happened just after midnight on July 27 at the Ralph Avenue subway station near Fulton Street, when an unidentified gunman opened fire, hitting an 18-year-old man in the left thigh.

EMS responded and rushed the victim — whose identity has not been released — to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was listed in stable condition. By the time police arrived, the shooter had already fled on foot in an unknown direction, officials said.

The gunman remains on the loose, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying him. On Monday, they released a photo of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a white shirt, black shorts, and white sneakers.
