Cops Shoot Man Who Ran From Them In Bed-Stuy, NYPD Says
The officers were investigating a shooting near Broadway and Kosciuszko Street about 9:30 p.m. Thursday night, police officials said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A police officer shot a man who tried to run away as they investigated a shooting in Bed-Stuy Thursday night, police said.
The chase began on the corner of Van Buren Street and Patchen Avenue about 10:15 p.m. when they saw a man turn and run, NYPD Chief of Patrol Jeffrey Maddrey said at a press conference.
Two people had just been shot — one in the right arm and leg and another in the left hand — by an unknown gunman on Broadway and Kosciuszko Street about 9:30 p.m., Maddrey said.

The officers chased the running man and opened fire after they saw him move his hand to his waist, Maddrey noted.
"They see the male grab his waist, turn towards them," Maddrey said. "One of the officers fired two rounds."

An officer from the NYPD’s Intelligence Unit shot the suspect in his right lower leg, according to Maddrey.
The bullet wound didn't stop the suspect from continuing to run into the first floor apartment at 18 Patchen Ave., where he was captured by police, said Maddrey.
The officers provided aid to the man, who was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, the Patrol chief said.
Police said Friday morning that they have yet to find a gun connected to the man they shot.
The injured man, along with two people found inside the Patchen Avenue apartment, are being held in police custody for investigation, according to police officials.
As of Friday morning, the three had yet to be charged, police said.
The two men shot earlier in the evening were both listed in stable condition, police said.
Officers grabbed another suspect who had a gun and may have been involved with the first shooting, Maddrey said.
