From now through Oct. 17, Bed-Stuy residents can propose ideas on how $1 million of Council Member Chi Ossé's city budget allocation can be used in the neighborhood.

The projects can be used for physical infrastructure that benefits the public, cost at least $50,000, and have a lifespan of at least five years.

Come spring, the projects will be voted on. And if yours is good enough, you could see your $1 million (or, at least $50,000) idea come to life.

People are already submitting ideas and you can submit yours here.

Below are a few examples:

Build tennis courts

  • "Right now we have to travel to other neighborhoods to try to secure court time at courts that can barely accommodate all the people that play there," wrote Isabelle.

Skate park and handball courts

  • "Create skate park with obstacle course and exterior smooth loop to replace badly damaged tennis courts that teens are already using for skating," said Jungwon.

Bedstuy Maps to Promote Physical Activity, Active Designs, Pride and Historic Preservation

  • "For example, a map at Herbert Von King Park should say how many steps, calories and time it takes to travel to the G train at Bedford Nostrand, to Restoration Plaza, and to local treasures such the United Order of Tents @ 87 MacDonough St." wrote Jerome.
