Whiz Kid of The Week

Name: Isaiah Johnson

Grade: 11^th grade

School: Brooklyn High School of the Arts

Accomplishments: Isaiah is an accomplished musician. He plays seven instruments: Bass, acoustic and electric guitar; alto and baritone saxophone; piano and clarinet. At age 15, he wrote a musical piece for the St. Luke's Orchestra. Isaiah is an “A” student who also loves to cook. Every summer, he participates in a young entrepreneurial program where he bakes and sells his own cakes and other pastries and donates half of his proceeds to charity. Isaiah also is a swimmer. Last summer, he competed in an inter-borough swim competition where he finished 2^nd place in freestyle and 3^rd place in the backstroke. Isaiah plans on studying music and marine biology in college, and he hopes to intern at the New York Aquarium this summer.

Key to awesomeness:  Isaiah is very passionate about his church community and his community at large. He participates as one of the Youth THUGs (Totally Hung Up On God) at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
