Winter Wonderland In Bed-Stuy: A Month Of Holiday Fun At Marcy Plaza
Marcy Avenue will be transformed into a winter wonderland —complete with music, a fashion show and an appearance from Santa Claus himself.

BED-STUY, NY — 'Tis the season, and starting Saturday, Bed-Stuy's Marcy Plaza will be transformed into a winter wonderland complete with a Santa Claus visit and holiday shopping.
The month-long holiday extravaganza, put on by Bed Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District, will take over the plaza on Marcy Avenue between Fulton Street and Macdonough Street through Dec. 23.
"Bed Stuy Gateway BID’s Winter Wonderland is back and better than ever," organizers said.

The stretch of Marcy will operate as an Open Street Thursdays through Sundays from Saturday to Dec. 23 with a number of shops and restaurants — like Shake Shack, Applebee's, Buka New York and MiniMoments Bath Body & Mind.
"I'm bringing this jollof with suya, salad, it's going to be very amazing people are going to see what we are cooking in Bed-Stuy," said Lookman Afolayan of Buka New York. "Seriously, amazing place."

Trolley cars will run up and down the stretch of Marcy throughout the events.
The activities kick off at 12 p.m. Saturday with a small business showcase, live music, holiday marketplace, crafts and food.
Immediately following on Sunday, Bed-Stuy locals will have their chance to meet the man himself — Santa Claus and the lovely Mrs.
And on Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22, local houses of worship will bring carolling to the plaza, along with weekly community nights for local families to enjoy activities and festive food.
