5 Hudson Valley Counties Among The 10 Highest-Earning In NY: Report

A new study from Stacker ranked incomes in New York and half of those in the top ten are in the Hudson Valley, with three beating out NYC.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — New York has more than its fair share of millionaires (and billionaires), but a just released study found five Hudson Valley counties were among the highest earners in the state.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the median U.S. household income was $68,703 in 2019, which was a 6.8 percent increase from 2018.

Stacker used the bureau's 2019 5-year estimated median household income data to compile a list of the highest-earning counties in New York State. The pandemic that started in 2020 drastically altered income and poverty levels since, along with consumer habits and employment opportunities.
