Bedford Hills Man Charged With DWI

A Bedford Hills man was arrested during a DWI checkpoint set up by the Bedford police department in conjunction with state and county officers. 

Julio Bravo, 43, was asked to submit to field sobriety tests the night of Aug. 11 after officers detected a strong smell of alcohol on his breath when Bravo was stopped at the checkpoint.

Bravo failed the field sobriety tests and was taken to the station for processing, where he submitted to a breath test that revealed a .11 BAC. He was charged with DWI, DWI over .08 BAC and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a car. He was released without bail pending a return to town court.

Katonah man charged with breaking protection order

Adam Abedelazeez was arrested after he went to his mother's house—a residence he was ordered to stay away from via a court-ordered protection.

On Aug. 13, Abedelazeez allegedly went to the residence on Succabone Road in Bedford Hills. He was advised by a male occupant of the home that he didn't belong there. Abedelazeez allegedly punched the occupant twice. 

The victim tried to get Abedelazeez out of the house, where the pair was arguing. Police arrived at about 3:18 pm. and arrested him. He was charged with second degree criminal contempt and disobedience. He was released without bail pending a return to town court.

Police investigating local larcenies

• A fisherman on Byram Lake Road reported that at about 1 p.m. on the afternoon of Aug. 13 he parked his car, went fishing and when he returned to his car his driver's side window was broken, wallet was missing from the center console of his car. His driver's license, debit card and fishing license were removed from his wallet. 
• The reported that a rooster and own statue were removed from their display of animal statues after 11 p.m. on Aug. 12. The animal statues are valuted at $400.
