Bedford Man Wins $10K Mega Millions Prize

The New York Lottery announced Monday that Peter Peer of Bedford purchased a winning ticket.

A Bedford man won $10,000 in the Mega Millions lottery drawing on May 8, the New York Lottery announded Monday.

Peter Peer of Bedford purchased the ticket at the A&P in Mt. Kisco, according to lottery officials.

Peer was not immediately available for comment.

Peer will be able to claim his prize at any of the lottery's stand-alone customer service centers, according to a press release.

The New York Lottery generated close to $2.9 billion in 2011-12 to help support NYS state eucation—nearly 15 percent of the total state education funding to local districts—making it North America's largest and most profitable lottery.
