Bedford School District Residents Vote on Controversial Budget
More than $4M in budget cuts will be up for a vote on May 17.

Bedford Central School District residents can vote on the district's proposed budget from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 17 at the elementary schools that serve their neighborhood.
The school district's 2016-17 budget will propose ways to fill a nearly $8 million funding gap.
The school district is hoping to approve a proposed budget of approximately $129,600,000, which is a spending increase of less than two percent.

More than $4 million in cost reductions have been included in the budget, which was finalized on April 20. One of the reductions is a cut in pre-K instruction.
Parents and teachers protested the budget cuts in March which also proposed cutting more than 20 staff positions.
