Bronx Man Wanted For CT Robbery Of FedEx Driver Is Captured In Bedford

BEDFORD, NY — A Bronx man's flight from justice came to an end in Westchester County, according to state troopers.

New York State Police say that on Tuesday, a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was sent to nearby counties for a 2007 Hyundai wanted in connection with an attempted strong-arm robbery of a FedEx driver in Newtown, Connecticut.

A trooper spotted the vehicle traveling south on I-684, and initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle exited at Exit 6 (Route 35 and Cherry Street) in Bedford.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, 36-year-old David Del Rosario Encarnacion, of the Bronx, was arrested without incident and taken to SP Somers for further investigation.

Through collaboration with the Newtown Police Department, Somers investigators were able to confirm Del Rosario Encarnacion was at the scene of the robbery.

During processing, investigators also found that he has an active arrest warrant in Pennsylvania for forgery.

Del Rosario Encarnacion was remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
