Car Stuck in Mud Leads to Man Stuck in Jail
Robert King of Bedford Hills was arrested for driving while intoxicated, Bedford police say.

A Bedford Hills resident who was attempting to free a rented car from some wheel-spinning mud was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated last week.
A passerby reported to police that a disabled car was in trouble on Broad Brook Road in Bedford at 11:56 a.m. on Aug. 18. Robert King, 34, was behind the wheel when Bedford police arrived.
Their investigation revealed two small bags of a substance suspected to be marijuana, along with a smoking pipe. King failed field sobriety tests including a one-legged stand.

After being brought back to the police station, King was found to have a .08 BAC and was charged with driving while intoxicated and remanded to jail.
Bail was set at $1,500 and he was scheduled to appear in Bedford town court on Aug. 26.
