As the song lyrics go, "Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus…" But instead of coming right down Santa Claus Lane, he'll trek from his workshop in the North Pole and land his sleigh at what has become an annual rite of the holiday season – "Curbside with Santa" hosted by the Golden’s Bridge Fire Department. This year's Curbside with Santa at the Golden’s Bridge Firehouse (Rt. 138 in Golden’s Bridge) will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024. Guests can arrive any time from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to take photos and chat with Santa.

While waiting in your car for your turn for a personal meet-and-greet with Santa, the Jolly Elf’s helpers (spoiler alert, they're really Golden’s Bridge firefighters) will serve hot dogs, snacks, cookies, chocolate, festive candy canes and more! When you get out of your vehicle to take photos and chat with Santa, Santa himself will give every child a special gift bag. Everything is free.

"This is a fun, entertaining and stress-free way to share the spirit and cheer of the holiday season. In between your holiday shopping and gatherings with family and friends, stop at the Golden’s Bridge Firehouse to get that perfect photo with Santa," said Steven Mines, a firefighter and vice-president of the Golden's Bridge Fire Department who serves as chair of the Curbside with Santa event.

In 2020, at the height of the COVID pandemic, the Golden’s Bridge Fire Department had to pivot from its decades-long tradition of hosting an indoor children’s holiday party at the firehouse, to the outdoor Curbside with Santa event. Organizers say the curbside event, now in its fifth year, became so popular with families because they can bring their children to meet Santa without having to deal with mall and department store crowds, that it has become a new tradition at the Golden's Bridge Fire Department.
