Driver on Cell Phone Charged With Marijuana Possession

Daniele Mele, 23, from Milford, CT, was arrested on July 7 on Woodsbridge Road in Katonah after Bedford police stopped him for allegedly using a cell phone while driving.
Officers on patrol approached the car at approximately 10:30 a.m. They said they could smell an odor of marjiuana and asked Mele if he had been smoking. Mele said was not but he did produce a small pipe that had marijuana in it, said police.
Police charged Mele with unlawful possession of marijuana and operating a car while using a cell phone. He was released on $50 bail pending a return to town court.

Bedford Hills man charged with cell phone use
Gilberto Ramos-Agustin, 54, of Bedford Hills, was arrested on July 6 after police observed him driving while allegedly using a cell phone. He was stopped on Bedford Road, near Valerio Court, and a computer check of his license revealed that he had also failed to notify the DMV of a change of address. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a car, operating a car while using a cell phone and failure to notify the DMV of a change of address. He was released on $100 bail pending a return to town court.
Rye Brook woman charged in driving arrest
Lauren Quinn, 33, of Rye Brook, was arrested July 7 after the car she was driving was tagged by the police on South Bedford Road in Bedford Hills. The LPR car notified police of Quinn's previous suspensions for parking violations. She was charged with operating a car with a suspended registration. She was released without bail pending a return to town court.

Mt. Kisco man charged with unlicensed operation
The license plate reader car came into play on a second arrest last week. Ubencer Martinez, 39, of Mt. Kisco, was driving a car tagged on Bedford Road near Shady Brook Lane on July 8. Martinez was pulled over, arrested, and charged with driving with expired insurance, operating a car with a suspended registration and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a car. He was released without bail pending an appearance in Bedford town court.
$25K in jewelry missing from Old Post Road home
A burglary was reported on July 11 at a home on Old Post Road in Bedford. Thieves entered the residence through an unlocked door and took over $25,000 in jewelry including an emerald cut ring in a platinum setting, a bracelet, a diamond pendant and a ruby diamond. The theft is being investigated by police.
