Katonah-Lewisboro School District Parent Council to Sponsor Two Community Meetings regarding the Board of Education Budget

The Katonah-Lewisboro School District Parent Council will sponsor two meetings regarding the 2010-2011 Board of Education budget, featuring a presentation by Dr. Robert J. Roelle, Superintendent of Schools, and Michael D. Jumper, Assistant Superintendent for Business.  The meetings will both be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the John Jay Middle School Theatre, at 9:15 a.m. and at 7:00 p.m. Both are free and open to the public.  This is an opportunity for the community to come, listen and ask questions in preparation for the school budget vote on Tuesday, May 18.

The Council consists of past and present presidents of all the Parent-Teacher groups in each school, plus the district Special Education PTA.  It meets regularly each month with the Superintendent and the Administrative Council.  Agendas are set cooperatively with the Superintendent and address a variety of current issues.  Particular attention is given to curriculum, organization and budget questions; the Council provides representative input from parents.  Council members are also able to discuss administrative responses directly back to the schools.  The collaborative nature of this council assures all parents a powerful voice.  For more information, please contact Dayna Kaplan at adsekaplan@msn.com.
