Fire Departments Ready for Prevention Week
Many local fire departments are hosting open houses and demonstrations this week.

Do you have an escape plan if your house catches fire? What about a second plan if your first one isn't possible?
That's the theme of the National Fire Protection Associations 2012 Fire Prevention Week: Have 2 Ways Out! — a focus on the importance of fire escape planning and practice. The reality is, the organization's website states, "when fire strikes, your home could be engulfed in smoke and flames in just a few minutes."
To help educate the public about fire safety and to recruit new members, local fire departments are holding open houses in honor of fire prevention week, held this year from Oct. 7 - 13.
