Flood Watch Issued for Northern Westchester

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the area from Friday at noon through Saturday evening.

Though towns in Northern Westchester have just dried out from the affects of Tropical Storm Irene, they may need to prepare for the possibility of more flooding in the area this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the area through Saturday evening. According to forecasters, an approaching cold front will stall over the area and mixing with tropical moisture coming up from the Gulf of Mexico.

For locals, that means periods of heavy rains starting Friday afternoon lasting through Saturday evening, for a total of one and a half to three inches of rain in the area. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-70s for the weekend, with overnight lows in the mid 60s.
