Goldens Bridge Woman Arrested for Alleged Jewelry Theft
A 28-year-old was charged with grand larceny after taking a $980 pair of earrings from Jaymark Jewelers in Katonah, said police.

Brooke Ahern, 28, of Goldens Bridge was arrested May 10 after video surveillance made her a suspect in a at Jaymark Jewelers n Katonah.
The owners of the jewelry boutique reported to police that a pair of gold and diamond earrings valued at $980 went missing from a case in the store between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on April 29.
Police detectives reviewed the surveillance video and said that Ahern, who has stopped at the store that day to sell scraps of gold, was identified as a suspect in the disappearance of the earrings and to a missing silver ring with black stones valued at $135.

After police detectives identified Ahern as a suspect, they received contact from her attorney, who said she would come to police headquarters to provide a written statement. According to police, her statement was "incriminating," and she was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. She was released without bail pending an appearance in town court.

Bedford police discovered four additional signs defaced by graffiti. On May 6, officers out on patrol noticed signs on Sunset Drive in Bedford Hills had been tagged with the marking, "SMET." Residents who observe any suspicious behavoir around these are encouraged to contact police at 241-3111.
Car broken into on Edgemont Road
A car parked on Edgemont Road May 6 was broken into around 10:30 p.m. The car owner reported that their car's side window was smashed and $15 cash was missing from inside the vehicle. The damage is estimated to be $250.
