Holiday Weather, What's Open and Closed

1. Local, state government offices closed today, groceries, gas open

The Town of Bedford and New York state offices are closed for the July 4 holiday. Federal offices, including post office branches, are also closed today. Need last minute supplies for a backyard barbecue? Local supermarkets, including the A&P in Katonah and Bedford and DeCicco's in Cross River, are open.

2. Weather for July 4th

There may be some thunder and lighting to go with the The National Weather Service forecasts scattered showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m., then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid 90s. There's a 30 percent chance for more scattered showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m.

3. Indpendence Fair is rain or shine

With that forecast, the hours for the are perfect—it's being held from 11 a.m. - 4 .m. In any case, it will be held rain or shine, organizers say—we'll see you there!
