K-L Board to Discuss Hiring, Survey Results

1. K-L school board meets

The agenda for tonight's school board meeting includes three presentations: Special Services Director Connie Hayes will present information to the school board about the department; Syntax, the district's PR firm, will present the results of a recent survey of the community and Superintendent Paul Kreutzer will provide an overview of professional learning communities. He'll also facilitate a discussion on hiring new district administrators. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the John Jay High School and the full agenda can be found here.

Roni Schotter comes to Little Joe's at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. She'll read from her newly published book: All About Grandmas and talk to kids about the process of writing and publishing.

Katonah Museum Learning Center

From 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., the Learning Center at KMA is open. The featured artist is Grace Lin, whom the museum describes as such: Lin's picture books offer insight into Chinese culture and folklore. Her charming depictions of Chinese and Chinese-American family life captivate young viewers and spark conversations about cultural celebrations and enduring traditions.

5. Mothers of Bedford screening tomorrow

ICYMI (and in case you don't know, that's Twitter-speak for "in case you missed it") last week we previewed Wednesday's screenings of the documentary, Mothers of Bedford, which features 5 stories of women striving to better themselves as parents and as members of society while behind bars at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. on the film; screenings are at 9:30 a.m. at and at 7 p.m. at   A Q&A session with the director and one of the mothers featured in the film will follow each screening.
