Summer Art at KMA Starts This Week, More Heat Headed Our Way
It's 5 things you need to know Monday.

1. Summer art adventures
There's still time to attend great summer workshops in art with your kids. This week at the starts Tuesdays for Tots: July 17, 24, 31, August 7, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., three- to five-year-olds and their adult partners can enjoy art-looking and art-making. Each week participants explore a new exhibition and use a variety of art materials in creative ways. Prepaid registration required. Ages 3 to 5 with an adult. Siblings under age 3 are not permitted. $60 members, $80 non-members for four-week course. And, there's Summer Art Adventures on Thursdays, July 19, 26, August 2, 9, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Each workshop is devoted to an in-depth project inspired by current KMA exhibitions. This Thursday is Chinese kite-making where kids can design, create, and decorate kites, then fly them at KMA's July 21 Kite Festival. Prepaid registration required. 2. Heat Wave - again!

3. Geneaology workshop
Interested in researching your family history? Lewisboro Library Director Cindy Rubino leads this workshop on how to use the recently released details of the 1940 census to uncover information on your ancestors. Registration is required. for details.
4. Bicycle safety
Do you have a child who is learning or has recently mastered how to ride a bike? There is a Bicycle Safety Workshop on Thursday July 19 at 3pm in the Children's Room at the Katonah Village Library. This workshop is provided by the Westchester County Traffic Safety Office. It should be good for beginners or as a refresher. This workshop is most appropriate for children ages 5-8 accompanied by an adult.
