Library Crafts, Superbowl Preview and a Touch of Evil

It's 5 things you need to know Thursday.

1.  Katonah Village Library stories and crafts: This is a day to get out. Take your snowed-in and stir crazy kids to stories and crafts for four- and five- year-olds this morning at the Katonah Village Library. Kindergarteners are welcome. It starts at 10:30  a.m. and you can just drop-in, no need to sign up.

2. Are you ready for some football? Check back with Patch later today to find out the best places in and around town to watch the game.

3. New features on Patch: Starting today, we're launching a new series of stories on Thursdays dedicated to helping you find the best that our local restaurants, bars and real estate professionals have to offer. In addition to providing you local news, we'll feature our weekend planner, home sales and a spotlight on the best, newest and tastiest in and near Bedford and Katonah — whatever that might be.

4. Touch of Evil screening today at 7:15 p.m. Directed and written by Orson Wlles, this classic film noir features Charlton Heston as a Mexican narcotics agent, Janet Leigh as his bride, and Welles himself as a corrupt chief of police in a Mexican border town. The movie was cut to pieces early on but has been restored to its original glory. The Center will present the director’s cut. View the 1958 trailer for the film. 5. Weather: We tried to get through 5 Things without mentioning the weather, but it's worth remarking on because it's so...unremarkable. No snow. No precipiation. Mostly sunny, with a high near 27, according to the National Weather Service. Bundle up tonight though—we're getting down to single digits. Mostly clear, with a low around four degrees.
