Man Charged With Illegal Possession of Amphetamine Pill

A Poughkeepsie man was arrested on April 9 after a traffic stop revealed he had marijuana and an amphetamine pill without a prescription, police said.

Anthony Cervone, 23, was pulled over on Babbit Road near Depot Plaza at 10:21 for failing to stop at a stop sign. Police said when they approached the car, they detected a strong smell of marijuana. After a search they located several bags of marijuana and the pill. 

Cervone was brought back to police headquarters and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and seventh degree criminal possession of controlled substance. He was released on $100 bail pending an April 19 appearance in town court.

Mt. Kisco woman charged in Kohl's theft

Flor De Maria Abzun Coronado was arrested on April 9 after security officers observed her stealing store merchandise, said police.

Loss prevention officers reported to police they saw Coronado put clothes, jewelry and perfume later valued at $142 into her bag and leave the store without paying.

Coronado, 40, was charged with petty larceny and released on $250 bail pending an appearance in Bedford town court.

Pound Ridge youth charged in drug arrest

A 17-year-old male from Pound Ridge was arrested on April 7 after an off-duty Ardsley police officer reported his erratic driviing to Bedford police.

At 11:25 p.m. the Ardsley cop called police and said he was following the youth, who was driving west on Route 35. The officer maintained visual contact with the youth's car until Bedford police intercepted the vehicle on the Route 117 bypass.

Police said the youth appeared to be under the influence of drugs and administered field sobriety tests, which he failed. At police headquarters, the youth refused a chemical test. He was charged with ability impaired by drugs and making an unsafe lane change, then he was released without bail pending a return to town court.

South Salem man charged after being found with almost 40 grams of marijuana

A South Salem man was arrested on April 10 after police found him parked in his car on Croton Lake Road with rolling papers and marijuana in plain view, police said.

The officers responding approached the car and questioned the driver, Charles O'Neill, 22, of South Salem, and a passenger, a 21-year-old individual from Katonah.

O'Neill admitted the marijuana was his. He stepped out of the car and a search revealed several zip loc bags filled with what was later calcuated as 37.5 grams of marijuana. 

O'Neill was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, a B misdemeanor. He was released without bail pending an appearance in town court.
