Mt. Kisco Man Charged With DWI, Police Investigate Burglaries

The information below was provided by Bedford police and does not indicate a conviction.

Peter Russell was arrested on April 24 after allegedly driving erratically and being unable to complete sobriety tests.

Police said a local resident followed Russell, 61, of Mt. Kisco, from the Saw Mill Parkway to Babbit Road until police arrived and stopped him near Depot Plaza, at about 7:30 p.m. Police said they banged on the window several times in order to get Russell's attention.

Russell had red, glassy eyes, police said, and failed field sobriety tests. He refused to take a chemical test until he spoke with his attorney. At police headquarters, Russell phoned his lawyer but after they hung up, he said he forgot what the lawyer told him to do, according to police. He refused the breathalyzer test. Russell was released on $260 pending an appearance in town court.
