Matthew Billet is competing this weekend at the BJKNTC Junior Tennis Classic Championships in Flushing. The tournament is considered to be one of the biggest junior tennis events of the year in the East Coast. He will be playing in the Boys 18-and-under division, and his first round match is scheduled for Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Check back with us over the weekend for more on the story.

3. College application workshop

There's a free workshop for incoming seniors who are (or should be) thinking of the college application process. Jennifer Schwartz of Bedford offers a four-session workshop starting Monday that will help students complete the first part of the Common Application and draft, revise and complete the essay component. Friday night will be cloudy, with a low around 63. Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Sunday is expected to be another warm and sunny day with a high near 87.
