New York State Helps Town Get Shiny, New Excavator
The new equipment will help maintain 96 center lane miles of roads, as well as perform tree work, drainage work, and other maintenance.

LEWISBORO, NY — The state is helping to fund a critical piece of new equipment and the Town of Lewisoboro can really dig it.
NYS Senator Pete Harckham announced that $120,000 in state funding will allow the Town of Lewisboro to purchase a mechanical excavator, which will help the town with road and infrastructure projects.
"I am pleased that we can help Lewisboro make continued improvements to its infrastructure with this equipment," Harckham said. "It is vital that we help local municipalities acquire the equipment necessary to maintain roads, drainage systems, and other infrastructure, while easing the burden of such purchases on local taxpayers."

Lewisboro Town Supervisor Tony Gonçalves said the Community Resiliency, Economic Sustainability, and Technology (CREST) grant that funded the purchase came just in time to fill the Highway Department's need for such equipment. The CREST program is one of the grant programs administered by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) to support community and economic development.
"With the help of Senator Harckham, the Town of Lewisboro is happy to announce that we have purchased a much-needed piece of equipment for the Lewisboro Highway Department," Gonçalves said. "Our Highway Superintendent, John Winter, is very excited to start putting this equipment to work in improving our roads and related infrastructure. We are very thankful for the Senator's continued support."
