Obituary: Elliott Peter Cregier Jr., Former Bedford Hills Resident

Peter Cregier of New Milford, CT peacefully passed away at home with his wife and daughters alongside him on November 14, 2022 at the age of 76.

He was born in 1946 in Port Chester, NY. Peter was the oldest of three children to Elliott P. and Elizabeth (Landers) Cregier Sr. and grew up in Bedford Hills, NY. He graduated from Fox Lane High School in Mt. Kisco, NY and BOCES Trade School in Yorktown Heights, NY for auto mechanics. In 1966 he married his high school sweetheart, Jacquelynn (Twidy). They first lived in Pound Ridge, NY for several years before moving to Brewster, NY in 1971.

After high school Peter began working at Marty Motors in Mt. Kisco, NY and in 1979 opened Cregier Automotive Repairs in Bedford Hills, NY which he owned and operated for 25 years. After retiring, he enjoyed working part-time at Sears, Levine Auto Parts, and Advance Auto Parts.

Peter had many hobbies that he enjoyed. Some of his favorite hobbies included being a private pilot with an instrument rated license to fly his Cessna Skyhawk airplane, owning several old cars including a 1931 Ford Model A Deluxe Coup, wood working, raising chickens, and fly fishing. He loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed time with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife Jacquelynn; daughters, Michelle Hall (Jon) and Denise Cregier; two grandsons, Jack and Evan Hall; and his brother Dennis Cregier (Peggy); along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister MaryBeth Esselborn.
