Outdoor Music and Theatre, Some Relief From the Heat

1. John Hall won't run

Former U. S. Congressman John Hall, who lost his re-election bid in November 2010, has decided not to run for office and regain his seat in Congress in the upcoming 2012 election. We'll have a brief on that later today.

2. Shakespeare Festival: Family Night

Hudson Valley’s continues tonight at 6 p.m. with the performance of “Comedy of Errors.” Catch one of the playwright’s earliest works, which tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were accidentally separated at birth. And tonight's performance includes a kid-frienly intro to the play they are about to see.

3. Summer sunset series continues

Tonight it's The Sixties Show, a 1960s tribute band that plays tonight at 7 p.m. at the Bedford Hills Memorial Park as part of the town's summer concert series. for details.

4. Caramoor's Dancing at Dusk

The outdoor music series for families continues tonight with Opa! The Music and Dance of Greece with Ethos. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to dance to live music, interact with the musicians, get to know their instruments, and ask questions. And it's perfect for toddlers through pre-teens with a 5 p.m. start time; the younger can get to bed on time and the older can still hang out with their friends later!

5. Some relief from the heat today

Today is the first day of the week for which the National Weather Service has not issued a heat advisory. It should be mostly sunny with a high near 86. Enjoy the sunshine, but still be sure to keep cool and drink plenty of water.
