A Mahopac man was discovered to have what police believe to be multiple packages of heroin in his car.

Robert D. Yoxtheimer faces multiple charges after police allegedly found four packs of heroin under the front seat of his car during a traffic stop, police said.

Officers on patrol on Dec. 10 near Park Place and the intersection of Woodsbridge Road observed a car driving south that failed to stop for a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

After pulling the car over at about 5:15 p.m., they interviewed the driver, Yoxtheimer, 31, of Mahopac.

A police check of his license revealed a past suspension for failing to appear for a court summons. Police said they noticed marijuana residue in the car on the driver's side of the car, which Yoxtheimer and his passenger said they knew nothing about.

After asking Yoxtheimer to step out of the car, police found a medicine bottle with a white powdery residue and four small packages of what police believe to be  heroin.
