Police: Early Morning Car Crash Leads to DWI Arrest
Other arrests include driving with a suspended license and criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, a resident of Penwood Road in Bedford Hills heard a loud crash outside, and reported the noise to the Bedford police.
According to police reports, officers arrived to find a car with major body damage smashed against three small trees, in a dirt embankment near the intersection of McLain Street and Barker Street in Bedford Hills.
The driver, 28-year-old Garrett Schilke of South Salem, had minor cuts on his arm but refused medical attention. Police suspected that he was intoxicated and conducted field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed. Schilke was arrested for aggravated DWI, indicating his blood-alcohol content was over .18 percent.

The car was towed from the scene.
Schilke was the driver in a 2003 accident that claimed the life of a 22-year-old Bedford Hills man. The two men were visiting family in Maine when the accident occurred.

Schilke is due in Bedford Town Court on Sept. 23.
Loud muffler leads to driving arrest
On Sept. 19, Jason Lynch was driving on Bedford Road near the fire department in Bedford Hills when he was stopped by Bedford police for a loud muffler.
Lynch, 36, was found to have a suspended license. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license and for failed equipment. He was released on $100 bail and is due in town court on October 7.
An unfortunate stop at the mini-mart
While making a quick stop at the Hess Gas Station Mini-Mart in Bedford Hills on Sept. 15, 28-year-old Michael Wolstencroft of Bedford Corners opened his wallet to make a purchase.
According to police reports, officers noticed that he had a license different in appearance and color from a legitimate New York State driver's license. After inspecting the license, officers arrested Wolstencroft for criminal possession of a forged instrument in the third degree.
He was given an appearance ticket for Bedford Town Court on Sept. 23.
Door knocker arrested for DWI
Around 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 15, a Maple Avenue resident called police to report that someone was knocking at their door. They took down the plate number, and gave it to police. Officers located the vehicle on Golden's Bridge Road (22 North).
After interviewing the driver, 21-year-old Robert Stuart Fulling of Carmel, police suspected he was intoxicated and conducted field sobriety tests. Fulling was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for observation because of his high blood-alcohol content.
He is also due in Bedford Town Court on Sept. 23.
