Police: Goldens Bridge Woman Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Parked Cars

State troopers say witnesses helped identify the driver of a black Jeep who crashed into several parked cars at the Shell Station in Lewisboro and was later arrested and charged with drunk driving.

Police responded at about 7 p.m. Tuesday to a caller from the Route 35 gas station who said the driver, a woman with two dogs in her SUV, fled the gas station after striking other cars in the parking lot.

While troopers were interviewing witnesses at the gas station, the black Jeep returned and the driver, Sarah Gans, 39, of Goldens Bridge, identified herself to police. Witnesses noted her as the driver involved in the earlier incident.

Police say Gans had a strong odor of an alcohol on her breath. She failed field sobriety tests conducted at the scene and was arrested and taken to police barracks where she took a breath test that revealed a .23 BAC.

Gans was charged with second degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor, and aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. She was released pending an appearance in the Town of Lewisboro Justice Court on July 22.
