Police: Husband Charged with Criminal Trespassing

Bedford police provided the information below and it does not indicate a conviction.

A man was arrested in North Salem after showing up at his former home in Bedford Hills and violating an order of protection in place for his wife.

Police responded to a call from a Bedford Hills residence on Nov. 16 at about 7:45 p.m. A woman told police that her husband, Eric Merahn, 68, had been to her home, which violated the court-ordered protection.

Police arrested Merahn and charged him with second-degree criminal contempt and second degree criminal trespassing. He was brought to Bedford court and arraigned. Merahn posted the required $500 cash bail and is due back in Bedford court.

Driver charged with drug possession

German Serna of Bedford Village was arrested on Nov. 17 after he was pulled over for driving 52 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone, police said.

Officers said they stopped Serna, 24, on Harris Road near David's Hill Road. When they approached his car, they noticed a black plastic bag in plain view on the passenger side of the car. Upon inspection, police discovered a small amount of marijuana in the bag, they said.

Serna was brought to police headquarters for processing and was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, speeding, and operating a car as an unlicensed driver.
