Police: Katonah Teen Busted for Underage Drinking

Bedford police broke up a house party on Old Mill Lane in Katonah.

Police say they arrested a Katonah teen on May 14 after busting up a houseparty on Old Mill Lane in Katonah.

Officers were called to the home around 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a possible party involving underage drinkers. They found about a 16-year-old male resident with about 15 other teensers in the home, which was strewn with beer cans and empty vodka bottles.

The teenager's parents were not home at the time of the party.

Police said the youths appeared to have been drinking but none seemed to need medical attention. The parents of the party-goers were all contacted and arrived to pick up their children.

The 16-year-old resident of the Old Mill Lane home was brought to police headquarters and charged with unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor under the ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) law.

He was later released to his mother without bail and is scheduled to appear in town court on May 19.
