Police: Man Found Sleeping in Parked Car Charged With DWI

The information was provided by Bedford police and does not indicate a conviction.

Travis Anthony-Lee Johnson was arrested after police found him sleeping in his car parked near the on-ramp of I-684 Northbound on Route 172.

Police responded to a report of an unconsicous driver at about 4 p.m. on June 22 and they found Johnson, 25, sitting behind the wheel of his gray Chevy Equinox with his eyes closed. Police said they attempted to speak with Johnson for several minutes but he was unresponsive and snoring.

Emergency medics responded to the scene and performed a blood glucose level test by pricking his skin—which did not apparantely awaken Johnson. His blood sugar levels were found to be normal. A few minutes later, police said, Johnson opened his eyes and stepped out of the car to take field sobriety tests, which he failed.
