Police: Suspected Drunken Driver Clocked at 85 mph on I-684

The information below was provided by New York State police and does not indicate a conviction.

A Connecticut man was arrested Sunday after troopers conducting a New York State Police stationary radar stopped him for speeding on I-684.

Ygnacio Delacruz, 22, of Bethel, CT, was pulled over on July 1 at approximately 1:35 a.m., police said. They said the driver was found to be driving 85 mph in a 65 mph zone and further investigation revealed that the driver was intoxicated. Delacruz was arrested and brought to the Somers barracks where he submitted to a breath test that indicated he had a .08 percent BAC.

A computer check revealed that Delacruz was driving with suspended driving privleges and failure to answer a previous traffic summons in the Town of Bedford. Delacruz was charged with DWI and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a car, issued traffic tickets and released into a friend's custody. He's due in Bedford Town Court on July  12.
