Question of the Day: What's on Your Summer Playlist?

Patch wants to know: what songs make you think of summer?

It's official—my children do not want to listen to Laurie Berkner or The Wiggles anymore.

Now that Having fun at the Beach, sung by Greg Wiggle, or Under a Shady Tree, cheerfully crooned by Berkner, are no longer our summer theme songs, we're struggling with what to play the iPod, in the car or at the beach.

In 2009—though sad to see Michael Jackson's passing—we enjoyed a renaissance of his songs at our house. Billie Jean, Rock with You and ABC were played incessantly to and from camp and for backyard dance parties. But the Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feelin' was hands-down the song of that summer.

Last year, Katy Perry's California Girls dominated the airwaves at home, and seeing a five-year-old girl lip-synching about her "daisy dukes and bikinis on top" was only slightly unsettling. I agree who just can't stomach his kids singing along to Ke$ha.

This year I'm determined to compile a PG-rated summer playlist, including Don Henley's Boys of Summer, my high-school summer anthem.
